End of the World Discussion

Hello and welcome again everybody to today's Prayer Quake Blog.

Today, instead of showing everybody an article or some other tidbit of Christian information of the norm, I'd like to share with you some things I've been feeling as of late.

This feeling, the feeling of dread has surrounded me. I know it's silly, and some would possibly agree with me on similar feelings. This dread, if that's the right word, is focused on the idea of the end of the world. As some know, some people, including Christians, not only believe that there is some "end" of the world, in the case of Christianity, the coming of Christ, the Rapture and what have you.

I've always hoped and believed that I'd be one of the lucky ones to be brought up with Him during this time, but naturally, as I'm only human, feel inadequate and feels that maybe I really don't deserve something that good.

In that case, that's where that fear, that dread enters. I've also been thinging lately about a particular date that would be considered the End of the World. Even though it's really a Mayan belief system, it is interesting and quite scary if you really think about it. To the ancient Mayans, they believed that the date of the end of the world would be December 12, 2012.

If you think about it, that's really not that far off, assuming that that date held any true significance to a realistic date of the End. It's not really just this one tid bit of information that is scary. It's the fact that the Mayan's aren't the only ones who believe in the importance of this date. I've heard a few other religions and individuals believed in this exact date as well. Even particular computer simulations that were ran indicated that the exact date Dec, 2012 would just...stop.

Of course, one would realize, that to the Mayans, when they said it was the date of the "end of the world", they didn't mean literally that the Earth would implode, destroying EVERYTHING. To them, it was the simple idea that this date would represent the end of the "fourth age" and then would begin the "fifth age".

That could really mean anything. It could be a catastrophic event, such as an astroid. It could be that the Earth would rotate on it's gravitation access by means of a Pole change.

Or it could simply mean a completely different road for mankind. It could mean we, as mankind would become a space faring race. We could become end up living underground because of global warming. Whatever.

Or it could seriously mean that Christ comes that day. I know, I know, we all know that no one knows of the day it happens, the end of the world, or the beginning of the next. Only God knows for sure.

Thanks for listening to my thoughts. I hope I hear from you and see what your thoughts are on the matter. Peace be with you my friends.

Hello everybody. Today's blog entry will deal with another blog entry I found dealing with a Larry King Live interview with Joel Osteen. Although I missed the interview myself, I would have liked to have seen it. But alas, I did not know about it until just a bit ago when I read about it on another person's blog. The Daquine Update

This is blog entry is more of an update to a situation that I'm in now with my computer at this point in time. I'm afraid I haven't been able to blog quite as much as I'd like, for I'm having some troubles trying to get my computer working. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. At this point, I will do with it what I can for now until I can get something better.

Click here to read it. I'm not used to hearing about a secular Sunday School. Has anybody else heard of these type of schools?
